HAMMOND, Ind. – Head Coach
Boomer Roberts recently announced the hiring of
Kendall Aldridge as assistant coach for the Purdue Northwest men's basketball program. Aldridge will also serve as Facilities & Events Coordinator in the PNW Athletics Department.
The PNW men's basketball program has increased its win total every year under Coach Roberts. Last season, PNW recorded its highest win percentage and most league wins since joining the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Pride are looking to keep the momentum rolling into the 2021-22 campaign.
"Kendall is the right man for the job at this point of our program, and I'm very thankful he chose to join our PNW Basketball family," Roberts said. "Kendall brings joy and maturity to our program that our guys and our staff will benefit from every day. We've been fortunate to have some great assistant coaches, and like them Kendall is humble, hardworking and confident. He is a great fit not only in our locker room but in the entire athletic department."
Aldridge, who is a native of Indianapolis, comes to PNW from Division III Houghton College (NY) where he served the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the men's basketball program.
"My wife and I are extremely grateful for this amazing opportunity to join the Purdue Northwest family," Aldridge said. "We are honored to join a program that is passionate about pouring into our guys, in every aspect of life. There is something special brewing here at PNW. I am ready to work every day to ensure we continue on the positive trajectory of the last few years."
As Facilities & Events Coordinator, Aldridge will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities in planning and utilization of PNW athletic facilities for athletic, recreational, intramural and club sport events.
Prior to Houghton, Aldridge began his coaching career in Arizona with stops as an assistant coach at Boulder Creek High School and Maya High School. He helped lead Maya to a six-game win improvement in his first season and mentored several all-conference players.
Aldridge played basketball at Ohio Valley University (WV) and earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from IUPUI.
