ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Purdue Northwest men's and women's tennis teams lost on the road at Grand Valley State on Friday afternoon in GLIAC action at the Premier Athletic Club.
The PNW men's team fell 5-2 in a battle of unbeaten teams in the GLIAC, while the women's team suffered a 7-0 defeat.
On the men's side, PNW (6-4, 3-1 GLIAC) got wins from
Miguel Agustin Flores Cepeda and
Leon Kah in the top two singles flights against the Lakers (6-7, 4-0 GLIAC).
Flores took down Martin Matov 7-6, 7-5 while Kah bested Jack Dausman 7-5, 6-1.
In addition, Flores and
Levent Evyapan won their No. 1-doubles flight 7-6 (7-3).
The PNW women's team (5-7, 2-3 GLIAC) went up against a tough GVSU squad which sits atop the GLIAC standings. The Lakers improved to 9-3 (5-0 GLIAC) overall.
