HAMMOND, Ind. – Purdue Northwest (4-3-0) scored in each half during Sunday's 2-0 GLIAC win over Northwood (2-5-0) as the Pride celebrated
Enrique Serna,
Alejandro Hernandez and
Matt Bahena on Senior Day.
Serna's play was befitting for the moment as the senior scored the game-winner in the 39th minute. He controlled a ball while shielding a defender on his back and netted the ball with his left foot.
Edin Galvez and
Ismael Contreras were credited with an assist.
PNW tacked on the second goal with a header by
Josue Espinoza, which came off a corner kick delivered by
Isaiah Nieves in the 80th minute. It was Espinoza's second goal of the season.
Goalkeeper
Raul Garrido Garcia was solid between the pipes – collecting a pair of saves while directing the defense for the squad's second clean sheet of the season.
The Pride outshot the Timberwolves 11-2 in shots on goal, while holding the edge in corner kick attempts, 5-2.
