Pride drop 1-0 overtime decision to Cards

HAMMOND, Ind. – For the first time this season, the Purdue Northwest men's soccer team played an extra period but visiting Saginaw Valley State came out on top 1-0 in overtime Sunday at Dowling Park.

PNW dropped to 3-3-0 after being held scoreless for the third straight match. SVSU, which won its fourth straight overtime game, clinched the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title while remaining unbeaten at 5-0-0.

SVSU's Lachlan Hepburn buried a 30-yard strike inside the right post to end the game at the 93:34 mark. The game-winning shot came after the ball was deflected out of the box.

The Pride had four corner kick opportunities but were outshot 8-0 in shots on goal.

Raul Garrido Garcia recorded seven saves in net for the Pride.
