HAMMOND, Ind. – For the second time in less than 24 hours, the Purdue Northwest women's volleyball team battled Parkside in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Rangers won Saturday's match at the PNW Fitness & Recreation Center in three sets: 25-22, 25-15, 25-13.
The first set featured 11 ties and seven lead changes. PNW worked its way to an 18-15 lead following a
Rachel Wilkening kill, but the visitors rallied to close the frame on a 10-4 run.
Wilkening led the Pride with six kills while
Erica Brohm added five. Defensively, libero
Danielle Fowler posted a team-high 16 digs and
Kenzie Duggan notched 14.
Parkside controlled the final two sets and clinched the season series over PNW.
PNW recorded five aces and registered an overall team hitting percentage of .043. Parkside hit .291 as a team including a near .500 clip in the final set.
