PARK FOREST, Ill. - The Purdue Northwest women's tennis team defeated the University of St. Francis 7-0 in dominating fashion to extend its winning streak.

PNW (2-1) got off to a resounding start with 6-2 sweeps in all three doubles flights to claim a 1-0 lead.

Sienna Lopez took the No. 1 singles flight with a resounding effort by blanking USF's Maria Kuzminskaya 6-0, 6-0 for her second individual match win of the season.

Lena Van Bergen earned her first individual match win of the season with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the No. 2 singles over Denisse Lizano.

Nicole Uzcategui, Carolina Yepez and Julia Yanes-Barrera each dismantled their respective opponents 6-1, 6-1.

The closest that a Pride tennis player came to losing a match was in the No. 3 singles when PNW's Patricia Dizon split the first two sets with Nikkie Christiansen 6-4, 4-6. Dizon, a junior from Arlington Heights, Ill., then collected herself and won the tiebreaker set 10-6 to close out the match.

The Pride will now set their sights on extending their winning streak even further when they host Hillsdale College tomorrow (Sat., Feb. 20) at the Park Forest Tennis Club in Park Forest, Ill.
