ASHLAND, Ohio – The Purdue Northwest women's basketball team fell 80-49 on the road against Ashland Friday afternoon in GLIAC action.
PNW dropped to 3-9 overall after the setback as the Pride look to bounce back tomorrow against the Eagles, who improved to 7-5 on the season.
Danielle Nennig led PNW with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting including a pair of threes.
Kennedy Jackson was the only other player to reach double figures in the scoring column with 10.
PNW shot 34% overall with 19 turnovers while Ashland shot 56% from the field.
The Pride dug themselves a hole early and struggled to climb out of it the rest of the game.
After trailing by single digits for most of the first quarter, PNW fell behind by 10 at halftime and then big scoring spurts in the third and fourth quarters sealed the win for Ashland. The Eagles closed the game on a 21-5 run over the final period.
AU's Annie Roshak led all scorers with 26 points (11-16) and 11 rebounds. Hallie Heidemann added 19 points, five boards, four assists and three steals for the Eagles.
