HAMMOND, Ind. — Purdue Northwest poured in a school-record point total during Sunday's 118-83 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph inside the Fitness & Recreation Center. Seven PNW players scored double figures while shooting 59% overall as a team on a school-record 46 made field goals.
PNW improved to 3-4 overall heading into league play next week and snapped a two-game losing streak in non-conference play. The Pride are 3-1 in home games this season.
HEAD COACH BOOMER ROBERTS
"We were pretty lethargic to start the game, and Cal St Joe made shots. Our second-half effort was better, but we still have a ways to go.
We shared it pretty well, and we shot it much better than we have. Having AB and Tripps (Greg Boyle) on the floor make us better, and Logan, Ant, and Z made a lot of winning plays. We've got to get healthy so we have a chance to see what we can be with our whole group."

How it happened: PNW shot a sizzling 71% and outscored Calumet 63-36 in the second half to race past the visiting Crimson Wave.
The opening period was much closer as the teams exchanged baskets in a fast-paced, uptempo contest. Calumet led 11-10 in the opening minutes, but a three from Irvin gave PNW a lead it wouldn't relinquish the rest of the night. The Pride led by as much as 11 in the first half until the Crimson Wave got back within four near halftime. However, back-to-back buckets from Irvin and Phillips would give PNW a 55-47 edge at the break.
The Pride came out strong in the second half and overwhelmed Calumet with a 21-7 run over a span of four-plus minutes. During that run, PNW went 8 of 9 from the field including 10 points from Barnard along with five others contributing to the spurt.
PNW's bench kept things rolling as the Pride reserves outscored Calumet 30-13 in the second half alone. The Pride logged an impressive 48-35 advantage in rebounds and drilled 15 threes in the contest.
Calumet's Noel Mpie led all scorers with 26 points on 12-of-15 shooting. The 6-foot-9 forward finished a rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards. Three others reached double figures in the scoring column for the Crimson Wave. Calumet shot 42% overall from the field and 26% from three-point range.
