HAMMOND, Ind. - Purdue University came to The Kube Saturday to play Purdue University Northwest Pride in ACHA D3 hockey action, as the Boilermakers won the back of the home-and-home series, 6-2. Purdue won Friday night's matchup in Fishers, Ind. by a 9-1 count.

It was nip and tuck and very chippy in the first period-and-a-half of action as teams traded penalties more ofthen than shots and goals. The visiting Boliers finally struck with two late second period goals to move into the final stanza 2-0. They added a third tally before Brendan Kerrick dropped in a biscuit on a 4-on-4. Right behind him, Zarren Zafiro brought the Pride within 3-2, but the dagger from Purdue came just under 10 seconds later and two more followed to close it out.

PNW netminder Vincent DiDonato kept seeing shots all night and wound up saving 45 of 51. The D3 Pride are off until a home-and-home Dec 10-11 vs Trine University.
