PEORIA, Ill. — It had been over a month since the Pride hit the ice, their last contest coming in early October. With their undefeated season at stake, the Black and Gold traveled to Owens Center in Peoria, Ill. to take on a Bradley team that had lost its last four games. But it was the host Braves showing who was in mid-season form as three early goals felled the Pride 4-2 for their first loss of the campaign.
The rust showed as Bradley winger and team scoring leader Zach Daniels tallied an unassisted goal 3:40 into the first period, then later put one between the pipes on the power play 1:22 into Period 2 thanks to a helper by Ethan Baker. It was already 3-0 by the time
Brendan Kerrick (Fr F/St John, IN/Lake Central HS) got the Pride in the scoring column 19:34 into the second.
Nick Anthony (Jr D/Dyer, IN/Lake Central HS) and
Sam Heffernan (Fr F/Carmel, IN/Zionsville Comm HS) assisted on the tally.
The Pride then closed within 3-2 in the third on an unassisted shot by
Brian Tadevich (Fr D/Tinley Park, IL) 3:58 into the period. They would get no closer as Ethan Baker closed out the scoring for the Braves with an empty-net goal at 19:42.
