The Purdue Northwest men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Northern Michigan on Senior Day at Dowling Park. The Pride honored
Juan Bonilla,
John Trollsas,
Daniel Rohder,
Josue Espinoza,
Raul Garrido Garcia and
Isaiah Nieves prior to the start of the match.
Six of PNW's seven losses this season have been decided by one goal. The Pride have now dropped five straight meetings to the Wildcats with all five of those determined by a goal.
Despite a 28-4 advantage in total shots and seven shots on target, PNW couldn't catch a break in the rainy playing conditions. NMU played a man down after a straight red was handed out in the 32nd minute for a rough tackle. But, the Wildcats had already gained the lead with the game's lone goal coming in the 13th minute by Noah Eklund. The visitors were able to fend off the Pride the rest of the way after taking the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Nieves and Trollsas led the Pride as each put two shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Sebastian Contreras had one save in his 12th start of the year.
