PNW falls in three sets to Saginaw Valley State

HAMMOND, Ind. – The Purdue Northwest women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to Saginaw Valley State Thursday night inside the Fitness & Recreation Center.

The visiting Cardinals won by final set scores of 25-11, 25-20 & 25-21.

PNW (1-15, 0-8 GLIAC) was led by Eric Brohm's eight kills with a .316 attacking percentage. Olivia Brooke dished out 22 assists with eight digs and pair of block assists.

Riley Kraiza, Bryanna Moonen and Lauren Sanders each recorded five kills. Alexis Wade made the start at libero and gathered a team-high 11 digs on the night.

Saginaw Valley (12-4, 4-4 GLIAC) out-hit the Pride .277 to .078 in overall team percentage, as the Cards were led by Maria Vukaj with nine kills and 11 digs.

PNW gained its first lead when a Brohm kill gave the Pride an early 2-1 edge in the third set. However, the visitors countered with a 12-3 run to put the match out of reach.

UP NEXT
PNW will open up the Midwest Region Crossover tomorrow against McKendree. First serve from the Hammond Sportsplex is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CDT. The Pride will play two matches on Saturday against Lake Erie (9:30 a.m.) and UIS (4 p.m.).
