MIDLAND, Mich. – The Purdue Northwest women's basketball team fell 64-57 to Northwood on Friday night in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.

Savaya Brockington led the Pride with 17 points, three rebounds and three assists, along with Molly DeValkenaere who scored 12 points and grabbed a team-best six rebounds.

PNW (2-6) battled back and trimmed a 16-point third-quarter deficit down to four, 49-45, entering the final period, but the momentum ended as NU (5-3) opened the fourth on a 7-0 run and remained out in front the rest of the way.

The Pride outscored the Timberwolves 26-19 in the third quarter, posting more points in the frame than the entire first half combined. PNW trailed 30-19 at halftime after a slow start dug the Pride an early 17-6 hole after one quarter of play.

Despite the setback, PNW posted a higher overall team shooting percentage (46%) than Northwood (38%) but the Pride struggled from three-point range, going just 3 of 12 from beyond the arc.

Northwood's Makenzie Todd led all scorers with 18 points on four 3-pointers. Brooke Ditto (12) and Kenzie Seeley (10) also reached double figures for the Wolves.

Northwood held a 34-28 edge in rebounding and used that advantage to outscore the Pride 11-2 in second-chance points. The Timberwolves were also solid at the charity stripe, making 17 of 18 at the line.
