HAMMOND, Ind. – The Purdue Northwest women's basketball team snapped a five-game home losing streak by defeating Davenport 74-61 Friday afternoon at
John Friend Court.
PNW (2-3) claimed its fourth straight victory over Davenport and captured back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
"I'm proud of this team and how we're growing," head coach
Courtney Locke said. "We are buying into getting stops and it's showing. It's a quick turnaround, so we have to bring the same defensive intensity tomorrow."
Savaya Brockington led four Pride players in double figures with 21 points. The sophomore guard had four 3-pointers and shot 50 percent from the field.
Danielle Nennig scored 18 points with eight boards while
Molly DeValkenaere posted 16 points and eight rebounds. DeValkenaere came up huge in the final quarter with 12 points.

DU made it a two-possession game late in the third quarter, but PNW responded quickly to erase any hint of a Panther comeback. The visitors shot 37.5 percent overall from the floor, but stayed within striking distance by knocking down 19 of 23 attempts at the free-throw line.
