The Purdue University Northwest Women's Basketball program hit the road for a weekend of GLIAC competition, first taking on the Michigan Tech Huskies in Houghton, Michigan on Thursday, February 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride started a bit slow with the Huskies outscoring them by 12 points in the first quarter. PNW would, however, rally and keep the second quarter much closer. Returning for the remaining twenty minutes of play, the Pride would go on to outscore the Huskies in both the third and fourth quarter, closing the gap until the final whistle. Unfortunately, this second-half push would not be enough to take the lead, ending the contest with MTU claiming the 63-53 victory.

WHO LED THE WAY FOR THE PRIDE
Molly DeValkenaere came off the bench to lead the way for the Pride with 14 points, shooting 36% from the field and 40% from beyond the three-point arc. She would also collect four rebounds and two assists. Savaya Brockington was close behind with 13 points, shooting 6-14 in field goals while also pulling down six rebounds.Â

TEAM STATS
Purdue Northwest finished with a shooting percentage of 34% and 35% from three. The Huskies shot 49% and 25%, respectively. PNW scored 20 points in the paint, nine off turnovers and 24 bench points.

WHAT'S NEXT
After tonight's loss, PNW now prepares to take on the Northern Michigan WIldcats on Saturday, February 8. This will be the second content between these two programs in this season, the first ending with a NMU 56-34 victory in Westville, Ind. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. (CST).
