ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Purdue Northwest Volleyball team commenced 2019 GLIAC competition on the road against the Ashland University Eagles, eventually dropping the matchup in three sets.
PNW battled through the faceoff with the Eagles, trading leads with Ashland throughout the competition. It wasn't until the 17-17 score in the first that Ashland surged ahead unanswered, taking the first set. The second set remained a fierce back and forth fight with Ashland taking the set 24-26 and the third and final set ended with a score of 18-25 in the Eagles' favor.
The Pride recorded 39 kills and 42 digs during the completion, led on the scoresheet by sophomore
Bryanna Moonen with ten kills, freshman
Kenzie Duggan with eight kills and sophomore
Rachel Wilkening with seven kills. Junior
Danielle Fowler put up 15 digs for the pride with senior
Brooke Ahrens collecting nine and Duggan putting up seven.
The Pride will be back in action Saturday, September 21 when they continue GLIAC competition on the road when they travel to Detroit, Mich. to take on Wayne State at 1 p.m. (CT).
