Box Score DETROIT, Mich.-- PNW Women's Volleyball continued their opening weekend of GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) play as they traveled to Detroit to take on Wayne State University. After a tough battle, the Pride lost in straight sets to the Warriors on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors bested PNW in the first, 25-15, but the Pride came out strong in the second set, leading 8-5. Purdue Northwest battled late and trailed by just a point (21-20), but could not hold on as Wayne State took the second set 25-20, and the third set 25-17.

"The team played great this weekend, and even though it didn't show in the win column, that doesn't mean it wasn't valuable," said Head Coach
Julie Wiejak. "We learned so much this weekend and are excited to get better this upcoming week."

The Pride recorded 32 kills in three sets, led by outside hitter
Bryanna Moonen (Franklin, Wis./Franklin Highland).Â
Brooke Ahrens (Covington Ind./Covington)Â recorded 27 assists, while
Danielle Fowler (Highland Ind./ Highland)Â led the team in digs, collecting 14 of the team's 31.

Pride Volleyball returns to action on Tuesday, September 24th in Kenosha, Wisconsin as they take on the Rangers of UW Parkside (3-6).
