PNW Volleyball Records Hard-Fought Loses on Day One of Parkside Crossover

KENOSHA, Wis. -- The PNW Volleyball team kicked off the first day of the Parkside Crossover on Friday the 13th, taking on Upper Iowa and McKendree. The Pride would battle it out with both teams before ultimately falling 3-0 against Upper Iowa and 3-2 against McKendree.

PNW vs. UPPER IOWA

PNW started off their appearance in this weekend's tournament with a dropped matched against Upper Iowa, losing to them 3-0. During the matchup, the Pride collected 14 kills led by sophomore Bryanna Moonen (Franklin, Wis./Franklin Highland) and freshman Autumn Beaudoin (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan), each recording 3.

PNW vs. MCKENDREE

The Pride rallied back from their earlier defeat to take on the McKendree Bearcats, trading blow for blow through the first three sets. Battling it out for every point, the Pride claimed victory in the first two sets while the Bearcats managed to get a leg up over PNW late in the third to take their first set of the competition. PNW was unfortunately unable to stop McKendree's momentum as the Bearcats would go on to take the fourth set 25-15 and the deciding fifth set 15-10.

The Pride recorded 58 kills against McKendree, led by sophomore Annie Pulizos (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) and freshman Autumn Beaudoin with 17 each, followed closely by freshman Holly Faley (Marion, Iowa) who recorded 11. Brooke Ahrens (Covington, Ind./Covington)records 42 assists while junior Danielle Fowler (Highland, Ind./Highland) added 21 digs to the scoresheet.

The Pride will be back in action Saturday, September 14th for the second day of the Parkside Crossover where they will take on Quincy University at 8 a.m. and Winona State at 5 p.m. (CT).
