Box Score 2 KENOSHA, Wis. – The PNW Volleyball team took on Quincy University and Winona State during the second day of the Parkside Crossover, eventually falling to both in hard-fought matchups.
PNW vs. Quincy
Bryanna Moonen (Franklin, Wis./Franklin Highland) and Annie Pulizos (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) led the team by recording 21 and 14 kills, respectively, during the competition, with Bryanna's performance making a career high. Junior Danielle Fowler (Highland, Ind./Highland) also recorded 18 digs against Quincy with freshman Kenzie Duggan (Bolingbrook, Ill.) recording 18 and senior Eudora Negri (Munster, Ind./Munster) talking 10.
"We learned a lot about ourselves this weekend," said Head Coach Julie Wiejak. "We fought back-to-back 5 set battles with some great teams. And within that were so many moments and plays for us to build on."
PNW vs. Winona State
The Pride closed the tournament in a 3-0 faceoff against Winona State at 5 p.m. During the competition, the Pride were once again led by Annie Pulizos and Bryanna Moonen, recording 8 and 7 respective kills. Danielle Fowler and Eudora Negri also rallied to put up 9 and six digs.
Following the end of the tournament, sophomore Annie Pulizos was then named to the all-tournament team for her talent display during the two days of competition, recording 37 kills and just under 50 points.
"I'm incredibly proud of Annie Pulizos for her performance this weekend," said Coach Wiejak. "She made the all-tournament team and it was well deserved."
The Pride will return to action on Friday, September 20th when they will begin inter-conference play on the road against Ashland.
