PARK FOREST, Ill. -- The Purdue University Northwest men's tennis team dropped a GLIAC match to conference opponent Lake Superior State Sunday afternoon.

The Pride were able to overcome the Lakers in No. 1 doubles as Senior Moritz Gisy (Duesseldorf, Germany) and freshman Gregory Kvint (Philadelphia, Penn./Lower Moreland) defeated Lake Superior's Joe Gilman and Krishan Taneja, 6-3. 

Despite strong efforts from sophomores Leon Kah (Munich, Germany) and Dru Kennedy (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte) at the No. 2 spot, they were unable to complete the comeback falling to a score 7-6 to Diego Penz and Luis Valderrama.

Junior Jonluke Passett (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandberg) and senior Mauricio Villacres (Guayaquil, Ecuador) fought back hard against  Harris Irfan ul Haq and Ali Sahibzada at the No. 3 doubles spot but fell short to a score of 6-2.

Kah recorded the victory at No. 2 singles for the Pride against Lake Superior's Ali Sahibzada 6-1, 6-2. Passett came up with the second victory for PNW at the No. 4 spot knocking off LSSU's Luis Valdeerama, in a three-set tiebreaker, 6-4, 4-6, 10-6. 

PNW looks to bounce back on Friday, April 12 as the Pride hit the road against Ferris State starting at 9 a.m. CT.
