KENOSHA, Wis. -- PNW Women's Basketball continued GLIAC play on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Wisconsin to face off against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers. Trailing by only five at the half, the Pride were unable to stay in the game, as they dropped the season's third GLIAC matchup 76-56. Head Coach
Courtney Locke feels her team learned a lot this week despite a few negative outcomes.
Â
"This was a tough week but I feel like we grew on and off the court," said Locke. "Non-conference play is over, and the GLIAC grind really begins when we get back from break. Parkside is a tough team, and we have to continue to have two feet in and keep working."
Â
Trailing 27-15 after the first quarter, the Pride put themselves within striking distance after a huge second quarter from
Anjel Galbraith. Galbraith was 4-5 from the stripe and 2-4 from the field, totaling eight points in nine minutes of play during the second quarter. Aiding the late first half push, Molly Devalkenaere had five points of her own in the second, shooting 3-3 with a three-pointer.
Â
Knocking down 48% of their shots in the first half, the Pride were unable to maintain their hot hand, shooting 4-21 from the field in the second half. Galbraith and
Savaya Brockington led the team in scoring with 13 points apiece, followed by Devalkenaere with 12.
Kennedy Jackson was all over the boards on Saturday afternoon, snagging 10 rebounds, five of which were offensive.

Purdue Northwest Women's Basketball returns to the court on Thursday, January 2 as they travel to Saginaw Valley State University. The matchup with the Cardinals begins at 5:00 p.m. (CT).
