HAMMOND, Ind. - - The Purdue Northwest Women's Soccer team hosted the Michigan Tech Huskies on Sunday, November 3 on Senior Day at Dowling Park. The Pride celebrated these four seniors prior to the late-morning game:
Alexa Vega (West Chicago, Ill./Community), Stephanie Sotiropoulos (Manteno, Ill./Manteno), Rachel Inglese (Crown Point, Ind./Lake Central) and
Madison Berg (Coatesville, Ind./Cascade).
In the end, Michigan Tech's offensive attack, which included 13 shots in the first half, proved to be too much for PNW as they fell just short in the 1-0 Huskies victory.
Goalkeeper
Leonie Heck (Rösrath, Germany/Albertus Magnus) made nine saves for the Pride in her 90 minutes of action
. Offensive leaders included
Reanna Soto (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville), who took three shots in the second half
, Kiana Chandler (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) with two shots in the second half, and
Breanna Pardus (Hobart, Ind./Hobart)Â with one shot on goal in the second half. Berg took the only shot on goal in the first half for the Pride.
PNW Women's Soccer concludes their regular season on Friday, November 8, as they travel to Kenosha to take on Wisconsin-Parkside. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (CT).
