CARSON, Cal. -- The Purdue University Northwest Men's Basketball team took on California State University, Dominguez Hills on the road, dropping the contest with a final score of 73-80.
"We played well in the first half, but credit to Dominguez Hills who turned up their defensive intensity in the second half," said Head Coach
Boomer Roberts. "We had some good looks early in the half that we missed, and they turned those early shots into buckets on the other end."
The Purdue Northwest Pride shot 44 percent with field goals, 37.5 percent from behind the 3-point arc, and 33 percent from the free throw line. No. 2
Gregory Boyle led on the scoresheet with 13 points, two rebounds and a steal, followed closely by No. 32
Jyrus Freels and No. 24
Jordan Doss who both put up 10 points apiece. No. 3
Chandler Spring put up nine points and six rebounds-- shooting 3-8 field goals and 3-7 from behind the arc -- and No. 10
Xavier Hallinan put up 8 points for the Pride -- shoot 3-8 and 2-6 with field goals and 3-pointers, respectively.
"We've shown a lot of growth in this last month and we have nothing to hang our heads about," continued Roberts. "Dominguez is very good and we went toe-to-toe with them for 40 minutes. We'll enjoy Thanksgiving as a family because we have so much to be thankful for. I'm thankful for our guys, who have been a joy to coach."
The Pride will be back in action after the Thanksgiving holiday, hitting the road to take on Davenport University on Thursday, December 5.
