PNW Plays For Breast Cancer Awareness Against Davenport

HAMMOND Ind.-- Purdue Northwest Men's Soccer welcomed the Davenport University Panthers to Dowling Park in a game centered around Breast Cancer Awareness and raising money for the cause. With the stands covered in pink decorations and the players wearing bright pink for warmups, the scene was set for a Sunday morning matchup supporting a great cause. Both the men's and women's teams took Pepsi Field for the cause with the men playing first, holding Davenport off in a stalemated first half until the closing moments leading up into halftime. The matchup ultimately went to Davenport with a final score of 3-0.

The Pride fought hard, but were unable to overcome a late first half goal, followed by two more goals in the second half from Davenport. Enrique Serna (Majadahonda, Spain Colegio San Jaime) recorded 4 shots on the day and Jaime Garcia (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) recorded 3.

Men's Soccer is next in action on Saturday, October 12th against Upper Iowa in Lafeyette, Iowa begins at 11 a.m. (CT). Following this, the Pride will return to action at Dowling Park on October 12th when they will host the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers.
