Men's Soccer Ties Upper Iowa in Double Overtime

Box Score FAYETTE, Iowa—Purdue Northwest Men's Soccer went up early, but could not hold on to their two-goal cushion as they surrendered two goals in the second half.  After two overtime periods, the Pride failed to score the deciding goal, and tied with Upper Iowa 3-3.

The Upper Iowa Peacocks scored early, but Matt Bahena (Alsip, Ill./ Eisenhower) answered with two goals of his own, recording both goals in a span of 5 minutes (39:53, 43:31), with assists from Enrique Serna (Majadahonda, Spain/ Colegio San Jaime) and Josue Espinoza (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young). After the half, the Pride came out hot as Daniel Freedman (Newcastle, England/ Monkseaton Academy) ripped a penalty kick into the back of the net (49:53), giving PNW a 3-1 advantage.  However, the Peacocks did not back down, as they scored two goals late in the second period, tying the match at three.  After two periods of overtime, the Pride and the Peacocks ended in a 3-3 draw.
