The Upper Iowa Peacocks scored early, but
Matt Bahena (Alsip, Ill./ Eisenhower) answered with two goals of his own, recording both goals in a span of 5 minutes (39:53, 43:31), with assists from
Enrique Serna (Majadahonda, Spain/ Colegio San Jaime) and
Josue Espinoza (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young). After the half, the Pride came out hot as
Daniel Freedman (Newcastle, England/ Monkseaton Academy) ripped a penalty kick into the back of the net (49:53), giving PNW a 3-1 advantage. However, the Peacocks did not back down, as they scored two goals late in the second period, tying the match at three. After two periods of overtime, the Pride and the Peacocks ended in a 3-3 draw.
Purdue Northwest Men's Soccer returns to action on Friday, October 18th, against the University of Wisconsin Parkside Rangers. The match begins at 2:30 p.m. (CT) at Dowling Park in Hammond.
