Haley Hodges

Hodges joins the Purdue Northwest softball staff after wrapping up a standout collegiate career as a catcher/infielder for the University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles. The Portage, Ind., native finished her playing career ranked first all-time at USI in career home runs (44), RBI (172) and slugging percentage (.654).

Hodges was named first team All-America by the National Fast Pitch Coaches’ Association (NFCA), the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and Hero Sports News during her junior season in 2016. That season, she set single season records at Southern Indiana after posting 22 home runs, 72 RBI, 45 walks, an on-base percentage of .578 and a slugging percentage of 1.000 en route to earning the 2016 Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Year award. In fact, Hodges led the nation in both slugging percentage and on-base percentage that year and also ranked fourth nationally in home runs, home runs per game and RBI per game. 

A graduate of Portage High School, Hodges earned varsity letters in softball, golf and volleyball. She helped lead the Indians to a 25-6 record and the 2013 IHSAA Class 4A state championship her senior season. Hodges was named the Duneland Conference Player of the Year in 2013 and Co-Player of the Year as a junior in 2012. She played under former University of Southern Indiana standout Lisa (Anderson) Hayes during her time at PHS. Hodges also played for the Indiana Raiders travel squad and recorded eight home runs and 51 RBI with a batting average of .508 in 2012. 

Hodges graduated from USI in December 2017 with a degree in computer science. She currently resides in Portage.
