Tom McDermott

Tom McDermott, Jr. began his first season on the Peregrines’ coaching staff in 2014-15.

He will serve as the Black and Gold’s volunteer assistant coach and his primary duties will involve assisting with in-game strategy and recruiting.

McDermott has been very active in the Hammond baseball community, accruing over 12 years of coaching experience including recent stints with Hammond Optimist Youth Sports and the Indiana Playmakers. A United States Navy veteran, he earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue Calumet while also graduating from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

He resides in Hammond with his wife, Marissa, and four children.
