COMPETITION
Q: Will there be any competitions in 2020-21 for fall sports?
A: The GLIAC Council of Presidents and athletic directors voted unanimously to suspend all competition through the end of the calendar year and to work towards creating meaningful competition for fall sports to take place after January 1, 2021. These decisions will be made at a future date with considerations given to the state of the COVID-19 pandemic, health and safety, eligibility, and NCAA guidance.
Â
Q: I’m a winter sport student-athlete and the beginning of my season has been postponed. When will we know our schedule for this season?
A: The GLIAC schools and head coaches will create and evaluate modified schedules for regular season competition and championships for winter sports. Schedules will be finalized and released in alignment with decisions related to NCAA Winter Championships and with considerations given to the state of the COVID-19 pandemic, health and safety, eligibility, and NCAA guidance.
Â
Q: I am a spring sport student-athlete. Will we have competitions this fall in our non-traditional season?
A: No. The GLIAC decision to suspend all competitions until at least January 1, 2021 applies to all sports and all competitions, including scrimmages, exhibitions, and non-traditional games.

ELIGIBILITY, FINANCIAL AID, AND COMPLIANCE
Q: Will my athletics scholarship be impacted if my season has been or is canceled?
A: No. PNW Athletics will honor all athletic scholarships for the 2020-21 school year regardless of the impact COVID-19 has on your ability to compete. Student-athletes must maintain full-time enrollment for the year via any combination of university offered formats while staying academically eligible per NCAA eligibility rules and applied COVID-19 waivers.
Â
Q: Will my eligibility be impacted? Should I take a year off from school to preserve my eligibility?
A: No. The NCAA has already issued blanket season of competition waivers and full-time semester extension of eligibility waivers for all student-athletes who are members of their teams during the 2020-21 school year. These can be applied if your team does not compete in at least 50% of the maximum number of competitions in 2020-21. Therefore, enrolling this fall and continuing your academic progress will have no detriment to your eligibility.
Â
Q: Will student-athlete orientation and beginning of the year meetings take place in person?
A: Student-athlete orientation will take place on zoom on Thursday, August 27 and Friday, August 28. Attendance at one of the orientation sessions is required. Time and zoom invitation to be provided at a later date.

WORKOUTS/PRACTICES
Q: Now that competition has been postponed, will we still conduct practices?
A: Per NCAA rules and our academic calendar, the first possible date all teams would be permitted to begin out-of-season activities is Tuesday, Sept. 8. Final decisions related to workouts and practices will be made based on NCAA guidance and our ability to create and maintain a safe environment for these activities. This is our top priority as we finalize plans and protocols for conducting workouts and practices.
Â
Q: When should I report to campus?
A: Please report to campus for the beginning of classes on August 24, 2020. For any questions related to University Village please contact Korey West, Associate Director of Housing and Residential Education.
