The Purdue Northwest Volleyball team opened play at the Hampton Inn Invitational on Friday, dropping a 3-1 decision to Jamestown before falling to Hillsdale, 3-0, in the evening match.

Game 1: Jamestown 3, Purdue Northwest 1 (25-17, 25-13, 21-25, 25-18)
- Senior Anika Huelskamp (Oxnard, Calif./Oxnard) and senior Katrina Soto (Newport Beach, Calif./University) led the Lions offensively with 10 kills apiece, while sophomore Chloe Deckard (La Porte, Ind./New Prairie) added nine.
- Junior Kennedy Rowzee (Rock Falls, Ill./Newman Central Catholic) paced Purdue Northwest at the net with six blocks, while Deckard contributed four and Huelskamp added one.
- Freshman Addison Smith (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) directed the Lions' offense with 18 assists and added 11 digs for a double-double.

- Huelskamp led the Lions offensively with nine kills, while junior Delanie Voss (Cedar Lake, Ind./Illiana Christian) and Rowzee each added four.
- Rowzee led Purdue Northwest at the net with three blocks, while Huelskamp and Voss each contributed one.
- Deckard and Smith each recorded 12 assists to help guide the Lions' offense.
- Huelskamp, Frayer, and Deckard each recorded one service ace for PNW.
- Frayer paced the Lions defensively with 10 digs, while Huelskamp added seven and senior Aiden Leverick (Munster, Ind./Munster) finished with six.

- Jamestown established control early in Friday morning's opener, hitting .441 in the first set while producing 17 kills to earn a 25-17 victory.
- The Jimmies continued their offensive efficiency in the second set, hitting .359 and holding the Lions to a .086 attack percentage to take a 25-13 decision.
- Purdue Northwest responded in the third set with its best offensive performance of the match, recording 13 kills while hitting .250.
- The Lions battled through the third set and held off Jamestown, 25-21, to extend the match to a fourth frame.
- Jamestown answered in the fourth set, using a .263 hitting percentage and 15 kills to close out the match with a 25-18 victory.
- PNW returned to the court Friday evening against Hillsdale and battled throughout the opening set, but the Chargers used 13 kills and a .379 hitting percentage to take a 25-18 win.
- The Lions produced their strongest offensive effort of the Hillsdale match in the second set, recording 14 kills and hitting .184.
- Hillsdale countered with eight kills and a .240 attack percentage to earn another 25-18 victory and take a 2-0 match lead.
