The Purdue Northwest Softball team celebrated Senior Day in thrilling fashion, sweeping a GLIAC doubleheader against Roosevelt on Sunday afternoon at Dowling Park with back-to-back walk-off victories, winning Game 1 in eight innings, 9-8, and Game 2 in 10 innings, 7-6.

Game 1
The Breakdown

• Purdue Northwest finished with nine runs on 10 hits, overcoming an early deficit and securing a walk-off win in extra innings.
• Freshman Charli Westerfield (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community) led the Pride with three hits and two RBIs, while senior Amanda DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) added two hits including the game-winning RBI hit.
• Freshman Gracie Jensen (Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic) and sophomore Kylie Madura (Munster, Ind./Munster) each recorded two hits, while freshman Sylvia Mudis (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) and senior Olivia Hernandez (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Central Catholic) contributed RBIs in the win.
• Senior Hailie Charmat (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) started in the circle, allowing seven runs (three earned) over four innings.
• Sophomore Kendra Steinberg (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) earned the win in relief pitching four innings.
• Roosevelt tallied eight runs on 13 hits, using a big third inning to take control of the game.
• Purdue Northwest jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning with RBI hits from Mudis and Hernandez along with a run-scoring fielder's choice.
• Roosevelt responded with a run in the second before erupting for four runs in the third and adding two more in the fourth to build a 7-3 advantage.
• The Pride answered in the fourth inning with three runs, highlighted by RBI singles from Madura and Westerfield along with an RBI groundout from Kylie Dugan (Buck Creek, Ind./William Henry Harrison) to cut the deficit to 7-6.
• Roosevelt added a run in the sixth to extend the lead to 8-6.
• Purdue Northwest rallied again in the sixth inning as Westerfield delivered an RBI double before a defensive error allowed the tying run to score, making it 8-8.
• After a scoreless seventh inning, the Pride completed the comeback in the eighth as DeBoer delivered a walk-off RBI single to secure the 9-8 victory.

• Purdue Northwest finished with seven runs on 17 hits, earning another walk-off victory in a 10-inning thriller.
• Westerfield, Jensen, and sophomore Jadyn Ramer (Lafayette, Ind./William Henry Harrison) each recorded three hits to lead a balanced offensive effort.
• Madura added two hits including a home run and drove in two runs, while Hernandez and Ramer each contributed RBIs.
• Sophomore Jordyn Roop (Hudson, Ill./University) started in the circle before sophomore Abbey Bond (Saint John, Ind./Andrean) earned the win in relief, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings to close out the game.
• Roosevelt recorded six runs on 13 hits, building an early lead before being held scoreless over the final six innings.
• The Lakers jumped out to a 6-1 lead through four innings behind consistent offensive production.
• Purdue Northwest chipped away with a run in the fourth before a three-run sixth inning, highlighted by a home run from Madura and RBI hits from Ramer and Westerfield, cut the deficit to 6-5.
• The Pride tied the game in the seventh inning as Madura delivered an RBI single to make it 6-6.
• Both teams were held scoreless in the eighth and ninth innings, setting up another dramatic finish.
