Barrett led off with a single, and Chidsey followed with a double before a St. Francis error allowed two runs to score. Nick Robinson (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) and Braylon Holland (Hobart, Ind./Andrean) each drove in runs with bases-loaded opportunities to give Purdue Northwest a 4-0 lead.
  • After St. Francis scored in the second inning, the Pride responded with two runs of their own. Kosteba delivered an RBI single before Owen Winters (Kouts, Ind./Kouts) added another run-scoring hit to extend the lead to 6-1.
  • Purdue Northwest continued to build its advantage in the fourth inning with a pair of sacrifice flies from Gabe Bush (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) and Winters, pushing the lead to 8-1.
  • The Pride added two more runs in the fifth, taking advantage of bases-loaded situations as Chidsey and Bounds each brought in a run to make it 10-1.
