Purdue Northwest Softball freshman outfielder
Sylvia Mudis (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) has been named this weeks GLIAC Softball Player of the Week.
Mudis turned in a breakout week at the plate, providing a major spark to the Pride offense across five games. Mudis recorded seven hits in 14 at-bats for a .500 batting average while scoring three runs and driving in seven.
Mudis opened the week with an impressive performance in a win at Parkside, going 2-for-3 with two RBI while adding both a double and a triple. She continued her production during the weekend series, highlighted by a two-hit, two-RBI effort against Ferris State that included both a triple and a home run.
She carried that momentum into Sunday's doubleheader sweep over Davenport, collecting three hits across the two games with three RBI. Mudis drove in a run in the opener before delivering a two-hit, two-RBI performance in game two, including a double.
In total, Mudis tallied four extra-base hits on the week, including two doubles, two triples, and two home runs, consistently producing in key moments for the Pride lineup and recording a massive .950 slugging percentage.
Defensively, Mudis was solid in the outfield, recording five putouts without committing an error.
