The Purdue Northwest Softball team responded in a big way on Sunday afternoon, sweeping a GLIAC doubleheader against Davenport with an 8-0 run-rule victory in Game 1 and a 5-1 win in Game 2.

Game 1
The Breakdown

• Purdue Northwest carried its momentum into Game 2, earning a 5-1 victory behind strong pitching and timely hitting.
• The Pride recorded six hits, with Mudis and Madura each providing key power at the plate.
• Mudis finished with two hits, including a double and a solo home run, while Madura added a two-run home run.
• Sophomore Kendra Steinberg (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) was dominant in the circle, tossing a complete game and allowing just one unearned run on three hits.
• Dugan scored a run in the first inning, while DeBoer also crossed the plate as part of the early scoring.
• Hannah Tahaney started on the mound for Davenport pitching the first five innings allowing five hits and four runs while earning the loss.
• Purdue Northwest jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Jensen and an RBI double from Mudis.
• Davenport scored its lone run in the third inning on a steal of home.
• The Pride extended the lead in the fifth inning with Madura's two-run home run to make it 4-1.
