The Purdue Northwest Women's Flag Football team suffered its first loss in program history Thursday afternoon, falling to Aurora, 33-12, in their home opener.

The Breakdown

  • Purdue Northwest came out strong in the opening quarter, striking for two early touchdowns to take a 12-0 lead. The Pride capitalized on efficient drives and early execution to put Aurora on its heels.
  • Aurora responded in the second quarter with a surge of offense, scoring 21 unanswered points behind an efficient passing attack led by Kaylin Morgan. The Spartans connected on multiple touchdown passes to take a 21-12 lead into halftime.
  • The Pride defense showed flashes in the third quarter, recording pressure and sacks, but Aurora added another touchdown through the air to extend its advantage to 27-12.
  • In the fourth quarter, Aurora continued to control the tempo and added one more score to close out the 33-12 decision. Purdue Northwest was unable to find the end zone after the opening quarter as Aurora's defense limited opportunities down the stretch.
