The Purdue Northwest Women's Flag Football team made history Saturday afternoon, earning the first win in program history with a 25-6 victory over Marian (Wis.) in the program's inaugural game.
The Pride used a strong defensive effort and timely offense to pull away from the Sabres in the second half, scoring in three different quarters while holding Marian to just 66 total yards.

The Breakdown
- The historic contest began with both defenses controlling the pace in the first quarter as neither team managed to score. Purdue Northwest set the tone early by limiting Marian's rushing attack and forcing multiple incomplete passes.
- The Pride broke through in the second quarter when Myrick scampering for the programs first-ever touchdown as the clock winding down for the halftime. She then connected with graduate student Alexis Wade (Union Mills, Ind./South Central HS) for point after to take a 7-6 lead into the break.
- Purdue Northwest regained control in the third quarter as Hale intercepted a Goodwin pass and took it back for a touchdown to make it 13-6 in favor of PNW.
- Myrick then connected with Emma Anderlik (Lombard, Ill./Willowbrook) for an 11-yard touchdown pass extend their lead to 19-6 late in the third quarter.
- The defense continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, forcing turnovers and shutting down the Sabres offense. Myrick added her second rushing touchdown of the afternoon with a 1-yard run to secure the milestone victory.
