The Purdue Northwest Softball team continued play at the USSSA Space Coast Spring Games on Friday evening in Florida, splitting another doubleheader. The Pride rolled past Ursuline in five innings, 11-3, before dropping a tight 3-2 contest against Thomas More in the nightcap.

Game 1
The Breakdown
- Junior Kylie Dugan (Buck Creek, Ind./William Henry Harrison) led the Pride offense with two hits, three runs scored and a stolen base.
- Senior Amanda DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) drove in three runs with a two-run triple in the fourth inning and added another RBI earlier in the game.
- Freshman Hannah Voll (West Lafayette, Ind./William Henry Harrison) provided a key spark off the bench, going 1-for-1 with a two-run triple and a stolen base.
- Senior Grace Wilson (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) finished with a hit, two runs scored and a stolen base, while junior Emma Fair (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) added a double and an RBI.
- Freshman Jessy Del Toro (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) and sophomore Kylie Madura (Munster, Ind./Munster) each collected a hit and scored a run during the victory.
- Freshman Chloe Tanner (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete five innings while allowing three runs on eight hits and walking one.
- Ursuline jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning with aggressive baserunning and an RBI groundout.
- The Pride answered immediately in the bottom of the first inning with three runs, highlighted by an RBI double from Fair and RBI groundouts from DeBoer and freshman Gracie Jensen (Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic) to tie the game.
- PNW took the lead in the second inning when Dugan reached on an error that allowed Madura to score.
- The Pride added two more runs in the third inning on a sacrifice fly from sophomore Jadyn Ramer (Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) that brought home Fair and Wilson.
- PNW extended the advantage in the fourth inning as DeBoer delivered a two-run triple before Jensen drove in another run with a groundout to make it 9-3.
- The Pride ended the game in the fifth inning when Voll blasted a two-run triple to right field, securing the 11-3 run-rule victory.
Game 2
The Breakdown
- Dugan again paced the Pride offense with two hits while also swiping a base.
- DeBoer, Fair, Madura and Wilson each added one hit in the contest.
- Wilson and freshman Sylvia Mudis (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) drove in the Pride's two runs during the fourth inning.
- Sophomore Jordyn Roop (Hudson, Ill./University) took the loss in the circle after allowing three runs on four hits across 3.2 innings with two strikeouts.
- Senior Hailie Charmat (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) delivered strong relief work, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings while striking out four and allowing no hits.
- Thomas More opened the scoring in the second inning on an RBI groundout from Madi Hall to take a 1-0 lead.
- Purdue Northwest answered in the fourth inning as Wilson singled to right field to score DeBoer before Mudis added an RBI groundout to give the Pride a 2-1 advantage.
- Thomas More responded in the bottom half of the inning with a sacrifice fly from Hall that tied the game before pitcher Alisha Fox drove in the eventual game-winning run with an RBI triple to right center.
- Both pitching staffs settled in the final innings, with Charmat holding Thomas More scoreless in relief while Fox worked through the final frames to secure the 3-2 victory.
