Men's Basketball honors Seniors against Lake Superior State

Senior Day set the stage at the PNW Fitness & Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon as the Purdue Northwest Men's Basketball team hosted the Lake Superior State Lakers in their regular-season finale. Despite a determined second-half effort in front of the home crowd, the Pride came up short in an 84-67.

  • Lake Superior State finished 29-of-53 (54.7%) overall, 13-of-31 (41.9%) from beyond the arc, and 13-of-19 (68.4%) at the stripe.

  • Karter Richards and Omar Suleiman each scored 19 points to lead Lake Superior State, with Harrison Sorrelle adding 18 points.

The Breakdown

  • Lake Superior State established control early, shooting 55.2 percent in the first half and knocking down seven three-pointers to take a 45-30 lead into the break. The Lakers were efficient offensively and limited Purdue Northwest's opportunities in transition.
  • The Pride responded with a strong offensive showing in the second half, shooting 70.0 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes. Taylor and Ross sparked the attack inside, helping Purdue Northwest outscore the Lakers 38-24 in the paint for the game.
  • Despite the improved efficiency after halftime, Lake Superior State maintained its cushion by continuing to convert from long range, hitting six more threes in the second half. The Pride trimmed the deficit to single digits midway through the period, but timely shooting and balanced scoring from the Lakers kept the lead intact.
  • Purdue Northwest continued to compete down the stretch on Senior Day, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome as Lake Superior State secured the 84-67 victory in the regular-season finale.
