Game 1
The Breakdown
  • Sophomore Kylie Dugan (Buck Creek, Ind./William Henry Harrison) led the Pride at the plate going 3-of-3 with one stolen base.
  • Junior Grace Wilson (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) added two hits for Purdue Northwest.
  • Senior Darcy Barkauskas (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) and sophomore Emma Fair (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) each notched one hit and two RBIs.
  • Freshman Giuliana Giordano (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) chipped in one hit and one RBI.
  • Gick gained the start on the mound for the Pride pitching another masterful seven innings allowing only one run on five hits with 15 strikeouts to tally the win.
  • Kendall Pearson led Roosevelt with two hits.
  • Kailey Hancock started in the circle for the Lakers pitching the first five innings allowing four runs on eight hits.
  • Riley Czarnecki finished the final inning allowing two hits and one run.
  • Both teams battled each other with great defense and pitching to hold each other scoreless for the first five innings.
  • Roosevelt scored the first run in the sixth inning to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Purdue Northwest didn't flinch and rallied in the sixth inning scoring five runs to a 5-1 lead.
  • The Pride went on to shut down the Roosevelt offense with elite pitching and defense to hold on for the win in Game 1, 5-1.

  • Freshman Jordyn Roop (Hudson, Ill./University) started in the circle for Pride pitching the first five innings allowing nine hits and four runs.
  • Freshman Abbey Bond (Saint John, Ind./Andrean) came in to pitch one inning allowing five hits and five runs.
  • Sophomore Hannah Rafferty-Flatter (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) finished the final inning with a solid relief appearance only one hit and no runs with one strikeout.
  • Athena Pomele-Pen led Roosevelt with three hits and two RBIs.
  • Riley Czarnecki started on the mound for the Lakers pitching all seven innings allowing one runs off three hits with three strikeouts to garner the win.
  • Purdue Northwest grabbed the early lead scoring one run to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Roosevelt took the lead scoring two in the second inning to make a 2-1 game.
  • The Lakers extended their lead to 4-1 after scoring two more runs in the fifth.
  • Roosevelt went on to record two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth, and two in the seventh to make it 9-1 and earn the win in Game 2.
