Pride Women's Golf take 5th at Warrior Invitational While Breaking Multiple School Records in the Process

On Monday and Tuesday, the Purdue Northwest women's golf team competed in the Warrior Invitational at The Orchards Golf Course in Washington Township, Michigan. The Pride secured a 5th place finish while setting multiple school records. The team broke the records for lowest team round, lowest team round vs. par, and lowest 36-hole tournament score. Individually, Wen-Yi Hung and Halie Wolf (Lafayette, Ind./) also set new records with scores of +9 and +11, respectively, for a 36-hole tournament total.

The Basics
  • Location: Washington Township, Michigan  
  • Host: Wayne State University  
  •  Wayne State won the Invitational with a combined score of 613 (308-305).

The Players
  •  Wen-Yi Hung finished in 5th place with a score of 153 (79-74).  
  • Halie Wolf (Lafayette, Ind./) tied for 6th place with a score of 155 (77-78).  
  • Chia-Hsuan Lee finished tied for 13th place with a score of 158 (83-75).  
  • Brynlee DeBoard (Demotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley) tied for 33rd place with a score of 167 (88-79).  
  • Kaitlyn Valiska (New Lenox, Ill./) tied for 37th place, recording a score of 172 (88-84).

Up Next
The Pride will return to action on Saturday, October 5th, in Allendale, Michigan, for the Gildas Club Laker Fall Invitational, with tee-off scheduled for 9:00 AM.
