The women's track and field team headed to University Center, Michigan this Saturday to compete in the GLIAC Indoor Championships where the team would show some great performances and take 7th place out of 9 teams. The standout performance from the meet was from Junior Kiara Spates (Markham, Ill./Thorton Township) who would secure first place in the women's triple jump event and become the new GLIAC Champion.

Women's Long Jump: Junior Kiara Spates (Markham, Ill./Thorton Township) takes fifth, Freshman Brenna Uppleger () takes sixth, and Sophomore Sarah Nyaanga (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsvile North) takes ninth.
Women's 4x400m Relay: Sophomore Marley Tate (New Albany, Ind./New Albany), Sophomore Sarah Nyaanga (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsvile North), Sophomore Darnesha Fraley (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park - River Forest), and Sophomore Da'Ja Jones (Portage, Ind./Portage) took sixth place.
Women's Weight Throw: Sophomore Jada Addo (Washburn, Ill./Lowpoint - Washburn) ends the meet in seventh place.
Women's Distance Medley Relay: Senior Christina Shaginaw (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS), Sophomore Marley Tate (New Albany, Ind./New Albany), Sophomore Landry Koski (Rock, Mich./Mid Peninsula), and Sophomore Carina Alanis (Frankfort, Ind./Frankfort) finished in eighth place.

Participants who have earned qualification for the NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled to journey to Pittsburgh State University on Friday, March 8th, where they will engage in competition during the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships. The exact start time is yet to be announced.
