Women's Basketball strong efforts fall short at Michigan Tech

The Purdue Northwest Women's Basketball team gave a strong effort on the road at Michigan Tech but fell short in the end on Saturday afternoon, 73-64.

The Breakdown
  • Both teams battled it out in the first period with teams trading baskets. Thaya Luse (Elburn, Ill./Example Academy) helped finish the first strong for the Pride knocking down a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 16-14.
  • Michigan Tech took some control in the second period outscoring Purdue Northwest 22-17 and took a 38-31 lead at halftime.
  • The Huskies started the second half strong with a 12-5 run to go up 50-36 with five minutes left in the third.
  • Michigan Tech held onto their double-digit lead into the fourth period, 56-41.
  • The Pride did not back down, in the fourth period they went on a 11-5 run to cut the deficit to single-digits, 61-52, with less then six minutes remaining.
  • The Huskies answered with a 8-3 small run to go back up double-digits, 69-55, with three minutes left in the game.
  • Purdue Northwest went on another small 8-2 run make it a single-digit game again 71-63, but it was little to late as the Prides efforts couldn't get any closer and falling in the end, 74-63.
  • The Pride finished with a small lead in points off turnovers, 16-14.
  • Purdue Northwests bench outscored the Huskies, 24-11.
  • Michigan Tech held a slim advantage in fast break points, 12-11.
