The Purdue Northwest Men's Basketball team dropped their GLIAC opener on the road at Northern Michigan on Thursday night, 70-54.

• Senior Jailen Nelson (San Diego, Calif./Carlsbad) led the Pride with a game-high 20 points with three rebounds.
• Junior Collin Albert (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran Highschool East) tallied 15 points and four rebounds.
• As a team, the Pride ended the game shooting 19-of-56 (33.9%) from the floor and went 7-of-26 (26.9%) from behind the arc.
• Dylan Kuehl led Northern Michigan scoring 16 points and snagged eight rebounds.
• As a team, the Wildcats finished the contest going 24-of-59 (40.7%) from the field and shot 8-of-24 (36.0%) from deep.

The Breakdown

• Both teams battled back-and-forth for the entirety of the first half and saw the Wildcats take a slim 28-25 lead into halftime.
• Northern Michigan started the second half fast going on a 15-5 run to go up 43-30 with less then 16 minutes remaining.
• The Pride continued to fight back and cut their deficit to single digits, 54-45, with ten minutes left in the contest.
• The Wildcats regained the momentum going on a 11-4 run to take a 65-46 advantage with less then four minutes in the game.
• Northern Michigan didn't look back and held onto their double-digit lead the rest of the way to take a 70-54 win.

"We gave ourselves a chance to get one on the road because we played great defense, especially in the first 30 minutes. But we missed some good looks and had a couple untimely turnovers that led to easy buckets for them. I'm proud of our guys for their effort, and we haven't lost any confidence. We just need to keep growing and continue to get better"
