Men's Basketball slips in tight battle against Rockhurst

The Purdue Northwest Men's Basketball team slipped in a tight battle during the final day of the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover against Rockhurst on Saturday afternoon, 80-75.

The Basics

  • Senior Jailen Nelson (San Diego, Calif./Carlsbad) led the Pride with 17 points going 6-of-10 from the floor and grabbed five rebounds.
  • Junior Colin Albert added 13 points and recorded six rebounds.
  • Senior Dalton Gayman (Nevada, Mo./Nevada) tallied his first double-double of the season scoring 12 points with ten rebounds.

The Breakdown
  • Both teams battled in the first eight minutes of the game with the score tied up 11-11.
  • Purdue Northwest then went on a strong 22-8 run to take a 33-19 lead with less six minutes left to take control of the game.
  • The Hawks battled back before the end of the first half cutting their deficit to 38-34 at halftime.
  • Rockhurst continued to chop at the Prides lead and tied the game up at 55-55 with less then 13 minutes left in the game.
