Men's Soccer upsets #16 Saginaw Valley State with Booth's late game-winner

The Purdue Northwest Men's Soccer team notched an upset victory over #16 Saginaw Valley State in GLIAC play on Sunday afternoon 1-0. Graduate student Christian Booth (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Father John Redmond) netted the game-winner for the Pride late in the second half.

  • Booth led the Pride scoring one goal with four total shots.
  • Freshman Michael Miljevic (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) added one assist.
  • Graduate student Tomas Rozman (Sydney, Australia/Champagnat Catholic College) played all 90 minutes in net for the Pride and recorded two saves to earn another shutout on the season.
  • Josh Cook led Davenport scoring one goal and adding an assist.

  • In the 85th minute, the Pride went on a break away and saw Booth convert a strike in the box to give the Pride a 1-0 lead.
  • The Purdue Northwest defense held strong in the final minutes to seal the big upset win over SVSU in the end, 1-0.
  • The Pride outshot the Cardinals during the game, 13-8.
