The Purdue Northwest women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Sunday morning against Ferris State in GLIAC action. The Pride were edged out by the Bulldogs in the end, 2-1.
Prior to the game, Purdue Northwest Athletics and Women's Soccer honored their 2024 seniors
Emma Carter (Plainfield, Ill./Timothy Christian HS),
Amaris Gonzalez (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South), and
Selma Srour (Hammond, Ind./Munster).

Inside The Numbers
- Senior Emma Carter (Plainfield, Ill./Timothy Christian HS) led the Pride scoring the lone goal.
- Junior Yoselin Garcia (Joliet, Ill./Joilet West) chipped in one assist during the game.
- Sophomore Meta Fischer (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) started and played all 90 minutes in goal for Purdue Northwest making four saves.
- Katherine Welch and Brinley Bell each led Ferris State with one goal each.
- Morgan Fillion played all 90 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs and made two saves.
The Breakdown
- Purdue Northwest grabbed the lead off a Carter goal to give the Pride a 1-0 start in the 11th minute.
- The Pride held on to the 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
- Ferris State tied the game 1-1 in the 80th minute from a Bell goal.
- Less then a minute late the Bulldogs grabbed the lead 2-1 off a Welch strike.
- The Pride couldn't tie things up in the end and ultimately fell in the end in a heart breaker, 2-1.
