Men's Soccer edges Roosevelt in road win

Box Score The Purdue Northwest Men's Soccer team edged out Roosevelt in a 3-2 win on the road in GLIAC action during a Sunday afternoon battle.

  • Senior Christian Booth (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Father John Redmond), senior Fausto Gionchetti (Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Oakhill Pilar), and junior Kenzo Fukugava (São Paulo, Brazil/Collegio Santoamerico) each led the Pride scoring one goal.

  • Purdue Northwest started fast grabbing the early 1-0 lead off a Gionchetti goal in the seventh minute.
  • The Pride extended their lead to 2-1 in the 13th minute from a Fukugava strike.
  • Roosevelt scored their first goal in 40th minute to cut their deficit to 2-1.
  • Booth added the Pride's third goal in the 67th minute to give Purdue Northwest a 3-1 advantage.
  • The Lakers scored a late goal in the 82 minute to make the score 3-2 but the Pride held on for the win in the end.
