The Purdue Northwest softball team swept Wayne State in home GLIAC action on Thursday afternoon defeating the Warriors in Game 1, 4-1, and taking Game 2 in 6 innings, 8-0.

Game 1
The Breakdown
- Freshman Myah Stuckey (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) led the Pride with two hits.
- Junior Jessica DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian), senior Jocey Gault (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison), and junior Darcy Barkauskas (St. Johns, Ind./Lake Central)Â each added one hit and one double.
- Junior Gabby Paliska (Palos Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East (Wisconsin-Green Bay)) earned the start in the circle for the Pride and pitched all seven innings recording five strikeouts for the win.
- Hodder led Wayne State with two hits.
- Sasha Buckberger pitched all seven innings for the Warriors.
- SVSU opened the scoring in the first inning with three runs to take an early 3-0 lead
- Purdue Northwest lit up the fourth inning scoring all four of their run to take a 4-0 lead, which included a solo shot from J. DeBoer.
- Warriors added a run in the seventh to make the score 4-1 but it wasn't enough as the Pride sealed the win in the end.

- J. DeBoer and Barkauskas each led the Pride with two hits and one RBI. J.DeBoer had a double and another solo homerun.
- Bravo added two hits during the game.
- Junior Kelsi Dillon (Braidwood, Ill./Reed-Custer (Georgian Court)) chipped in two RBIs.
- Junior Emma Hill (Holmes Beach, Fla./Cary-Grove (IL)) started in the circle for the Pride and pitched all six innings to earn the win. She gave up no runs and notched two strikeouts.
- Taryn Peru led Wayne State with two hits.
- Batton started on the mound for the Warriors and pitched the first 3.0 innings.
- The Pride started the scoring early taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- Purdue Northwest added a run in the second to take a 2-0 advantage.
- The Pride scored three runs in the third inning to increase their lead, 5-0.
- Purdue Northwest tallied a run in the fourth and two in the sixth to end the game with the victory, 8-0.
