Box Score The Purdue Northwest women's soccer team celebrated senior day this Sunday but would unfortunately fall in a hard fought GLIAC conference matchup against Michigan Tech 2-1

  • Freshman Amaris Gonzelaz led the Pride with 46 mins played and finding the back of the net for the Pride's lone goal.
  • Graduate Brinley Hefty (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere North HS) played all 90 minutes and dished out an assist.
  • Freshman Meta Fischer (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) played all 90 minutes in goal for Purdue Northwest and tallied four saves.
  • Julia Pietila and Alyvia Sanom led Michigan Tech each with a goal.
  • Gracie VanLangevelde played all 90 minutes in net for Michigan Tech.
The Breakdown
  • Michigan Tech would find an early goal in the first half as the Pride struggled to get their offense going. Michigan Tech would hold a 1-0 lead going into the second half.
  • The Pride would come out strong in the second half finding the back of the net early with a goal from Amaris Gonzelaz assisted by Brinley Hefty (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere North HS) to tie the game 1-1.
  • Michigan Tech would find the back of the net again and hold off the Pride to secure a 2-1 victory.
