HAMMOND, Ind. – Head Women's Soccer Coach Mary Whisler is excited to announce the hiring of Nicki Rucki as assistant coach ahead of the 2022 season.
 
Rucki comes to PNW after a stellar career at NCAA Division I UC Davis where she played goalkeeper over three seasons with the Aggies. She went 10-8 last season and picked up Big West Conference Player of the Week, following an eight-save shutout win over Boise State.
 
"I am very excited for the addition of Nicki Rucki to staff," stated Whisler. "Nicki comes to us with well over a decade of goalkeeping and coaching experience. Nicki is full of passion and energy, which make her a very strong leader that people want to follow."
 
"Nicki will bring a great energy and charisma to the program," added Nicki Hamm, who was Rucki's head coach at UC Davis. "She cared deeply for her teammates as a player and I'm sure she will bring that same commitment as a coach. I'm excited for her to start her coaching journey with such a fantastic head coach in Mary Whisler."
 
Rucki began her career at San Francisco State, which is an NCAA Division II institution.
 
At SFSU, Rucki was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Goalkeeper of the Year as well as All-CCAA First Team following the conclusion of her sophomore year.
 
"I am beyond excited about the opportunity to be the assistant coach for PNW soccer," Rucki commented. "I am extremely grateful for what Coach Whisler has done for me and her trust to bring me in as her assistant. I am excited to get PNW women's soccer on the map and to work with the future female leaders on our team. I look forward to bringing my high energy and competitive mindset to PNW."

PNW students attend all home games for free by displaying a valid PNW student ID card.
