OLD HICKORY, Tenn. –
Libby Huston (Yale, Mich./Yale) once again led the Purdue Northwest women's golf team with a +9 on Day 2 of the Music City Invitational hosted by Trevecca Nazarene.
Huston started her morning on the 16
th hole and birdied holes 18 and 1 for an early 2-under after four holes. Unfortunately for Huston, she would finish the final 14 holes at a 11-over pace for a Day 2 total of 0-over par and a finish at fifteenth.
Taylor Martin (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger HS) and
Kaitlyn Valiska (New Lenox, Ill.) were not too far behind Huston in the individual standings. Martin totaled an 84 on Day 2 for an event for of 169 while Valiska's Day 2 tally of 86 gave her an overall score of 170.
Miriah Gabel (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington High School Central) rounded out the PNW golfers that competed on the weekend and was consistent throughout both rounds with an 87 on each day for a 174 total.
Catherine Brzycki (Griffith, Ind.) showed the biggest improvement from Round 1 to Round 2 on the Pride as she closed out the tournament with a 96, which was five strokes better than her Day 1 total of 101.
As a team, the Pride finished 17 shots ahead of Kentucky Wesleyan for sixth place while Lewis University beat out Trevecca Nazarene for the team crown by 11strokes. Kasey Kane of Lewis University won individual honors with an even par Day 2, but her Day 1 total was good enough to keep her in the lead the entire morning.

The Pride will take a few days off before traveling to Quincy, Illinois for the Quincy Invitational on April 11-12 at the Quincy Country Club.
